When you’re planning a vacation with your family,
it can be easy to forget things you need to do or bring simply because of all
the people you’re planning the holiday for. You could be in charge, but your
partner, your parents, or your kids could be very vocal about their opinion and
suggestions; or they could have a variety of requests and special needs, which
can make things confusing.
Working with a travel agency can make the planning
simpler, but you have to be thorough in discussing with them what you want and
need for a satisfying outcome. You have to ask a lot of questions, too. Here
are some that you shouldn’t forget to raise:
Can you bring this and that?
Pets, baby gear, mobility aids, and sometimes, home
cooked food or alcoholic beverages may not always be allowed. You might need to
make special requests or pay fees for them.
What is the ambiance of the place?
Can you have a quiet retreat in the destination, or
is it “party central” filled with rowdy teens and young adults? Are the tourist
attractions all family-friendly, or are some of them for adults only? Make sure
the environment will match your intended vacation theme.
What are the interesting things to do in the area?
Don’t forget to list down the activities you can do
and the places you can visit in the area. Take note of free or at least
budget-friendly events or attractions.
