Have a Vacation in Branson

Branson, Missouri is called the Live Music Show Capital of the World because there are a number of musical, comedy, and magic shows running on any given day across the 50-plus theaters. Aside from that, there are a lot of places to enjoy nature and do plenty of outdoor activities, some of them at no cost at all.

Here are some of the free but fun activities you can do in Branson:

  • Visit the Table Rock Dam, a massive structure that can be viewed at the park just below, and marvel at the engineering wonder that is holding back the White River waters.
  • Go to the Dewey Short Visitors Center, where you can watch a film that showcases the Table Rock Dam, the Ozarks area, and the White River. There are also displays of local flora and fauna, and families can have a picnic on the grounds or go swimming, diving, and fishing.
  • There are also a number of camping spots scattered around Branson.
  • Hike the Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area where people can escape the bustle of the city and lose themselves in nature. There are two woodland trails that go through the forest, along bluffs and across glades.

You can also enjoy biking, canoeing or kayaking. Biking trails can be found in the area of Henning State Forest, and there are nearby rivers for canoeing or kayaking as well, such as the Finley River, the Buffalo River, and the James River.
