Visit the Branson Ferris Wheel this Summer

Back in January, the Track Family Fun Parks announced its purchase of the 15-story Navy Pier Ferris Wheel, which was then situated in Chicago. Now, just in time for summer, the former Navy Pier Ferris Wheel has been rechristened the Branson Ferris Wheel, and is now open for those looking for a different sight in Branson.

A Huge Investment

During its years at Chicago, it has been a mainstay in Navy Pier before it was replaced by a larger wheel with climate-controlled gondolas. The Track Family Fun Parks invested a total of $4 million not only as payment for the wheel itself, but also for all the work into moving it to Branson and upgrading its lighting system.

The Branson Ferris Wheel has 40 gondolas, which can contain over 240 passengers or six passengers for each gondola. It never stops rotating slowly, and makes a full revolution in about eight minutes. This Ferris wheel also make use of a new LED system made up of 144,000 multicolored lights, which can be electronically customized.

The New Spirit of 76

The acquisition of the Branson Ferris Wheel is just among the first steps in the ongoing efforts to revitalize Missouri 76. The revitalization concept, dubbed as the New Spirit of 76, aims to rework about five miles of the roadway, along with redesigning promenades, lighting, landscaping, and the like. Such efforts only show how beautiful a place Branson, Missouri truly is.
